Server types
Sizes of servers, what they include and how to change them.
A server type defines the number of vCPUs, the memory, the disk size and the traffic included per month. The current types and prices are on the pricing page and in the public API:
curl https://api.odinex.cloud/v1/server_types
odx server-type listEach type has:
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
name | The name you use when creating a server, e.g. t1 |
cpu_type | shared or dedicated vCPUs |
cores, memory, disk | vCPUs, memory in GB, disk in GB |
included_traffic | Traffic included per month, in bytes |
prices | Hourly and monthly price per location, as {net, gross, currency} decimal strings |
deprecated | Deprecated types cannot be used for new servers |
Disk
The server's disk is network block storage. Its size is set by the server type (or larger, see below), and it is deleted with the server. For data that should outlive a server, use a volume.
Changing the type
You can move a server to another type (change_type). The server has to be powered off first.
- With
upgrade_disk: truethe disk grows to the new type's size. Disks can never shrink, so you can't move back to a type with a smaller disk afterwards. - With
upgrade_disk: falsethe disk keeps its size. Only CPU and memory change, so you can downgrade again later.
